Design Story

The composition reads top to bottom with real hierarchy. A banded collar carries the words PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS, then two sculpted lion heads face outward in mirrored, heraldic stillness — mouths open, expression fierce, but the posture is entirely static and ornamental. Below them sits the focal panel: the oval Nittany Lion mark, centred and given clean breathing room against the busiest part of the design. Lower registers step down into a Beaver Stadium relief, the est. 1960 plaque, and the closing lines TRADITION EXCELLENCE COMMUNITY FOREVER above a paw print and helmet. Faceted blue and clear accents punctuate the gold filigree like set stones, keeping the eye moving without breaking the navy base tone. The side handle continues the story in miniature with WE ARE PENN STATE stacked vertically.
