Design Story

The wraparound composition is built on a strict vertical axis. "LSU" anchors the top in purple block lettering with gold outline, "TIGERS" sits beneath in restrained small caps, and the eye then drops into an ornamental cartouche framing a bass drum flanked by brass horns and laurel scrollwork. Banner ribbons carry "Golden Band from Tigerland" and "Fight for LSU" in staggered scale, so the hierarchy resolves cleanly from a distance. Amethyst-toned jewel accents and fleur-de-lis motifs punctuate the gold filigree, while the pale ivory field supplies the negative space that keeps the density from collapsing.
