Design Story

The composition is built in tiers. A medallion holds the interlocking UK monogram in deep blue against a cream field, framed by scrolling gold filigree and the arched lettering "University of Kentucky." Below it, banner typography reads "Kentucky Wildcats" and "Est. 1865," with a lower band lettered as part of the ornamental design. The base breaks into a stylised basketball panel, gold seams cutting across blue. Three colours only, which is why the detail reads clean instead of cluttered.

Use & Experience

On a vertical tumbler silhouette this hierarchy works beautifully. The crest sits at the natural front-facing focal height, so the monogram stays legible in the hand while the filigree carries the wrap around the sides. The gold banding at the rim and foot frames the whole vessel, and the blue handle echoes the palette rather than interrupting it.
