A round floor piece built like an optical event: the centre reads as an open stone well, and something is climbing out of it. Composition first, spectacle second.

Design Story

The circular field is organised in two registers. The outer ring is a patchwork wheel of quilted maritime motifs \Uffffffff anchors, compass roses, a ship's wheel, crescent moon, breaking waves, lighthouse, octopus, rope knot, skull and crossbones \Uffffffff held in deep indigo, oxidised teal, sand and rust red. Inside that border, the stonework shaft drops into dark water, and a skeletal figure in a tricorn hat rises with a glowing lantern raised, hook arm reaching across the rim. That lantern is the single warm accent in an otherwise cool, muted palette, and it carries the entire focal hierarchy. The illusion of depth works because the border stays flat and graphic, giving the eye a stable frame to measure the centre against.

Room & Styling

As a rug, the centred medallion structure earns open floor. The dark border defines the edge cleanly against wood or pale flooring, while the depth effect reads strongest from standing height \Uffffffff walk toward it and the well opens. Best placed where furniture frames it rather than covers it.
